Sacred Cod Elegant Ornament in Black and Gold

The sacred cod has played an important part of Massachusetts' history for well over 200 years. Seen on many homes in coastal communities, it has become the symbol for prosperity due to it serving as a food source and valuable trade commodity. 

It also represents the working class's ambition, ingenuity, and ability.

Since 1784  4’11” woodcarving of an Atlantic codfish still hangs in the House of Representatives’ chamber in Boston’s Massachusetts historic state house.

Each ornament is 3 3/4" wide, 2 1/4" tall and 1/4" thick.
